Masseria Primitivo

Immersed in the amazing surroundings of the Apulian countryside, The Masseria is set in the heart of Salento, just four kilometers from Manduria.

Originally built as a noble residence in the second half of the 1500’s, it was donated to the Monastery of San Giovanni Battista of the Benedictine nuns of Castelnuovo.
In 2015, the onwers brought the structure back to its ancient glory thanks to a series of radical restoration works.

In just 15 minutes of car from the splendid beaches of San Pietro in Bevagna, Porto Cesareo, Punta Prosciutto, Torre Lapillo, and Torre Colimena, the estate enjoys the silence and peace of the rural setting of the Salentino region, the cradle of this ancient culture and depository of the wine and food heritage of southern Apulia.

Spectacular star-vaults dominate the rooms and spaces starting from the reception hall, which is well suited for elegant events.

The Masseria has four 60 sq. meter suites with large living areas, dining tables and sofa beds, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.

Each suite has two complete baths with shower and bathtub. One suite is equipped for persons with physical challenges. A small fully equipped kitchen in each apartment makes it possible, for those who wish, to prepare their meals independently or we will be happy to serve them upon request.

A grand salon with fireplace and private library is available for the guests.
Outside, a 70 sq. meter swimming pool awaits our guests where they may enjoy the spectacular sunsets thanks to its two whirlpool baths.
In the “Secret Garden”, another pool carved into the rocks is available for those more romantic or quiet moments.

In the external areas, there is also a 500 sq. meter farmyard characteristically paved in antique “Chianca Pugliese” stones and serves as an ideal location for ceremonies, dinners, receptions and large events.
